Tanalised Timber
Tanalised timber is timber that’s been pressure-treated to improve its durability. The treatment protects against rot, moisture and insect damage, making it suitable for outdoor use and exposure to the elements. It also means the timber is ready to use from the outset, saving time at the start of your project.
This added durability makes it well-suited to a range of outdoor and garden projects, including fencing, decking, sleepers, raised beds, and structural uses such as shed bases and joists. Whether you’re working on a full build or a smaller job at home, it’s a reliable option for any outdoor feature that’s going to be exposed to the elements year-round.
Just like regular timber, it can be cut, fixed and installed without any extra steps, keeping things straightforward whether you’re working at scale or tackling a weekend DIY project. You’ll notice that tanalised timber has a slight green tint, which comes from the treatment, but this fades over time as the wood weathers. It can also be painted or stained to suit your chosen finish.
At Estate Sawmills, many of our timber products are made in-house, helping to keep sizing and finish consistent across the range. Our tanalised timber is available in a variety of sizes and profiles, including paling boards, fencing rails, fence posts, decking joists and planed boards.
