Fencing Battens

Fencing battens are used across a range of outdoor projects where you may want a little more control over how everything comes together. Rather than working around fixed panels, they let you build things out to suit the space you’re working with, which is why they’re a popular choice for more custom layouts.

Battens are often used to build slatted fencing, where the spacing between sections makes a big difference to the overall look. You can adjust the fence battens to keep your fencing more open, letting light and air through, or tighten them up for added privacy. They can also be fitted either vertically or horizontally, so it’s easy to create whatever style you have in mind.

They’re not just for full fence runs either. Fencing battens are regularly used for smaller sections, such as screening around patios or seating areas, or as part of features like trellises. It makes them a handy option whether you’re working on a full garden build or just adding to what you already have.

At Estate Sawmills, many of our timber products are made in-house, including our fencing battens, so everything stays consistent in size and finish across the range. That consistency makes things easier when you’re working across a larger space or picking up additional materials later on.

All of our fencing battens are pressure-treated (tanalised) for outdoor use, so they’re built to handle the weather and are ready to use straight away. It means you can get started as soon as they arrive, whether you’re replacing a section or working on a larger project from scratch.
